The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning is set to launch the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, a comprehensive National Development Plan, by the end of November. This week, key stakeholders—including representatives from government ministries, agencies, civil society, academia, youth organizations, and the business sector—gathered at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town to validate the draft plan.
Finance Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan described the validation meeting as a critical step toward finalizing and implementing this ambitious roadmap. Aiming to diversify Liberia’s economy, the ARREST Agenda emphasizes tourism as a potential driver of private investment while also focusing on strengthening governance and enhancing the education and healthcare sectors.
The plan underscores a commitment to inclusive development, seeking to improve educational outcomes from early childhood through higher learning and address healthcare challenges. Once launched, the ARREST Agenda will guide Liberia’s strategy for economic growth and social progress.
