An educationist Professor Gorgui Dieng has frowned at the exclusion of an educatonal policy in the recently launched strategic public policy frame “Senegal 2050 by President Basirou Diomaye Faye.
The new framework, which is the result of collective reflection by Senegalese experts, outlines an ambitious national transformation agenda for the next 25 years.
Speaking to WADR, Professor Dieng, who is the Head of African and Postcolonial Studies, English Department, Cheikh Anta DIOP University, Dakar, noted among the four pillar anchors of the policy, the absence a policy to reform the education sector, which is vital if the country wants to attain its desired economic sovereignty.
According Prof Dieng, there is no much difference between the Senegal 2050 plan and the Plan Senegal Emergent of former President Macky Sall.
