In a 2022 report presented to the UN General Assembly by the Working Group on People of African Descent, United Nations expert Catherine Namakula highlighted the impact of racial discrimination, racial stereotypes, systemic discrimination, and xenophobia on children of African descent.

The report revealed that these children face discrimination in various areas such as the administration of justice, law enforcement, education, and health.

The report found that children of African descent throughout the diaspora experience heavier policing, including more arrests, police surveillance, racial profiling, strip searches, and racially biased decision-making and outcomes.

This report explores the impact of racism on African youths and offers actionable recommendations for prompt action to address this issue.
