The first part of the program focuses on the recently concluded 5th Clime-Health Africa summit organized by the World Health Organization for the African Region, WHO-Afro.

The meeting which was held in the Senegalese Capital Dakar from September 24 – 26, brought together over 80 delegates, including representatives from Ministries of Health, climate change experts, regional and global partners, to discuss and collaborate on addressing issues related to climate change and health in the African region.

Now this is crucial as it comes at a time when health is receiving increasing attention in the global discourse as climate-related emergencies multiply and that is one of the greatest health challenges of the 21st century.

WHO-Afro via the Clim-Health Africa initiative is creating a virtual hub where African technical institutions and international partners can share their expertise to help communities, institutions, practitioners, understand and integrate climate change challenges into policy, socio-economics, planning, and programming.
