The Ghana Police Service has denied claims of shooting incidents in the just-ended nationwide “Enough is Enough Demonstration” by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The protest; aimed at piling pressure on the Electoral Commission to allow for an independent forensic audit of the voter register ahead of the December polls, was generally peaceful across all 16 regions.
However, Christopher Atitso reports that the situation was slightly different in the Ashanti Region, Kumasi, where protesters clashed with the police resulting in injuries.
