The state of democracy in Guinea during its transition period was the focal point of a reflection session held in Conakry on Monday, bringing together civil society actors and political parties in observance of International Democracy Day.
Participants highlighted several concerning issues, including the breakdown of dialogue between key stakeholders and the transitional authorities, restrictions on freedoms, and the closure of some private media outlets.
These observations suggest that democracy is facing significant challenges in Guinea.
