The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has revealed alarming statistics on asset declaration compliance, with only 26.5% of public officials across the three branches of government in full compliance with the requirements.

The deadline for public officials to declare their assets was July 31, 2024, and the majority of them did not comply.

Cllr. Alexandra Zoe, the head of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, stated that out of 1,900 identified officials who were required to declare their assets, only 473 voluntarily participated, making up 26.5 percent of the total.

The LACC Chairperson emphasized that strict measures, including suspension and withholding of salaries, are being considered for officials who do not comply with asset declaration requirements.
