The Hunger situation in Africa, where a little over 730 million people suffered from hunger in 2023, which is one in 11 people globally and one in five in Africa. 

This is according to the report on The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World published on Thursday. 

The annual report, published by five specialized agencies of the United Nations system, indicated consistently high hunger figures for three consecutive years amid worsening crises worldwide.

The report was officially presented on Thursday during the ministerial meeting of the G20 group responsible for the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, currently taking place in Brazil.
