Commercial activities and vehicular movement in a suburb of Conakry came to a standstill due to a protest by a group of young people.

The demonstration in the Hamdallaye-Bambéto area on Tuesday was against the lack of electricity supply in their neighbourhoods.

The protest led to intense clashes between the state police and the demonstrators, which lasted for several hours.
