Scores of Ghanaians, including Members of Parliament and traditional leaders on Tuesday hit the streets of the capital Accra, to mount pressure on President Akufo-Addo and the relevant authorities to halt the proposed sale of the 60% Social Security and National Insurance Trust’s (SSNIT) stake in four hotels to Minister of Agric, Bryan Acheampong’s Rock City Hotel.
The protest, led by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, also had in attendance members of organized labour and the people of La where two out of the four SSNIT hotels are located.
