France will be making a significant drawdown from African countries in the coming days.

According to sources, Paris will withdraw troops from the countries of the Sahel strip and those in the Gulf of Guinea.

This military pullout was first announced by President Emmanuel Macron in 2023 and has since been gradually implemented as seen in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger most recently.
