The National Council of the House of Breeder in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on June 4, held a National Forum for sharing and popularizing the pastoral code.
Recall, the pastoral code was adopted during the council of ministers held on December 28, 2022, and voted on in the National Assembly on January 10, 2023.
The event held in the Capital Dakar, aims to promote the institutional, legislative, and regulatory innovations that govern pastoral activities in Senegal.
Dr. Amadou Tidiane Niang, the Country team lead for the Emergency centre, transboundary animal disease at FAO in Senegal, speaks on the significance of the event and the impact of the pastoral code on food sovereignty and livestock resilience in the country.
