Sierra Leone allocated funds to build first national electricity grid

The country inches closer to self-power sufficiency as it receives allocation to build its first national electricity grid.

This giant stride is thanks to a 412 million dollar financing from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The power plant to be built in Freetown will increase electricity supply across the country where only 15 percent of the population has access to power.
