Lawyers of a Malian famous economist, Etienne Fakaba Sissoko are calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
Sissoko appeared before a cybercrime court in Bamako on Monday to answer for offences he is being accused of by the transitional government.
In prison since March 25, Etienne Fakaba Sissoko is among others accused of discrediting the State, insults, false news and statements likely to disturb the public peace.
The economist in his recently published book denounces the propaganda by the Malian government.
His fate will be decided on May 20.
