Reporters Without Borders has denounced the suspension of about nine international media channels in Burkina Faso by the military authority.
The High Council for Communication (CSC) accuses them of having covered the Human Rights Watch report on the massacre of 223 civilians, including 56 children, in two villages in the northwest of the country.
Sadibou Marong is the Director of Reporters Without Borders in West and Central Africa.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo reacted to the Human Rights Watch report.
He stated that “Burkina Faso firmly rejects and condemns such unfounded accusations”.
