Over 100 people have died as the country grapples with a deadly heatwave. Mali has been experiencing a severe heatwave since the beginning of April, accompanied by scorching sun and frequent power outages.
Record temperatures, never before recorded during this period, have reached over 48 degrees Celsius in the region of Kayes in the Western part of the country and over 44 degrees Celsius in the capital.
