The Gambia and ECOWAS have taken a major step towards the creation of a Hybrid Court for the Prosecution of Perpetrators of Human Rights Violations between July 1994 and January 2017.
The inaugural meeting between the two parties in Banjul will eventually pave the way for the trial of former Gambian leader Yahya Jammeh.
Recall, that some alleged offenders during Jammeh’s 22-year rule have been heard both at home and abroad while he is exiled in Equatorial Guinea.
