Civil rights activists have denounced the definite withdrawal of the broadcast license of the Walfadjri media group by the authorities.

Recall that the Senegalese Minister of Communication, Moussa Bocar Thiam, explained among other things that the group was not complying with the regulatory and contractual requirements relating to the licence.

Several organisations, including Amnesty International Senegal and Afriktiviste, which is active in the field of digital democracy, have condemned this withdrawal.

They are calling on the authorities to guarantee press freedom at this time of political tension.
