The Kaloum district situated at the seat of government, witnessed an intense period of rage running for hours on Thursday.
Women and young people from this district of Conakry took to the streets to demand the reconstruction of the houses belonging to victims of the central hydrocarbon depot disaster, and the implementation of measures to address the high cost of living in the country.
Others are the freeing of the internet connection and the unbundling of the frequencies of certain private media.
The demonstration was however dispersed with tear gas by the police and gendarmerie.
As Oge Obierika reports, the demonstrators accused the special forces of brutalising them.
