The Tertiary and Education Workers Union of Ghana has today begun an indefinite strike.
The labor union laments over the employer’s reluctance to address their welfare needs, including tier-two pension funds, vehicle maintenance allowance, and overtime allowance, among others.
Their demands mirror that of the Senior Staff Association and the University Administrators who are currently on their third week of strike.
The impact of the strike is expected to affect essential services within tertiary institutions, such as environmental cleaning, classroom setup for teaching and learning, security services, and hospital services, among others.
From Accra WADR’s Naa Dedei Tettey, reports.
