A regional emergency logistics known as The West and Central Africa Health Emergency Management Hub was commissioned on Thursday.
The facility situated in Senegal represents a breakthrough in the World Health Organization’s humanitarian and collaborative work to improve lives in Africa.
The facility inaugurated in partnership with the Senegalese government, is part of the effort to ramp up emergency preparedness and response to public health emergencies, at the national and regional levels.
Dr Matshidiso Moeti, the WHO Regional Director for Africa says the infrastructure will help to strengthen the capacities of health systems in the region.
