The Ivorian Ministry of Youth Promotion, Professional Integration and Civic Service, through the National Civic Service Office, is training 500 young people aged 14 to 17 from schools in the Abidjan district and Dabou, west of Abidjan, in civic commitment.
The initiative, called “parcours citoyen,” aims to reinforce the civic and citizenship behaviour in these young people through a 10-day training program.
During the training, the young participants are introduced to community activities, learn how to live together, receive first-aid training, and take part in recreational, educational, and sporting activities.
The “parcours citoyen” also sensitizes young people to the issues of illegal migration, cybercrime, and the risks associated with the consumption of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
