We are continuing with our theme for the month, women’s rights activism and advocacy. This week our conversation focuses on the role of grassroots movements.

They have long been the backbone of social change, driving progress from the ground up and empowering communities to stand up for their rights.

We are privileged to have as our resource person, Aminata Massaquoi, a distinguished Sierra Leonean journalist and the manager of Culture Radio. Aminata is not only a leader in media but also a passionate advocate for women’s and girls’ rights.

Her work focuses on land rights, a critical issue that directly affects the livelihoods and autonomy of women, particularly in rural areas.

Aminata’s extensive experience working with rural women has provided her with invaluable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities within grassroots activism.
