Peer pressure refers to the influence others, particularly peers, have on an individual to act in a certain way. For example, if you are with friends engaging in activities you usually would not consider, and they persuade you to join them, that illustrates peer pressure.
Teenage peer pressure is a complex issue. While teens may feel that they have “grown up,” their brains are still developing, particularly in areas related to decision-making.
There are different forms of peer pressure that teens may encounter: negative and positive.
This edition of the program aims to explore how both types of peer pressure can impact young people’s decision-making processes.
