As they say, in a democracy, the government is of the people, for the people and by the people. However, without genuine elections, democracy has no meaning. Elections provide the citizens with a uniformly managed way to voice their opinions and choose who and what is best for themselves and their nation.

In Ghana, a presidential and parliamentary elections will hold on December 7 and it will be managed by an institution called the Ghana Electoral Commission.
However, in the build up to this forth coming election, there have issues and questions raised about the independence and functions of this body.
In this edition of Citizens’ hour, we will be exploring how electoral bodies and institutions such as the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
