The national union of workers of Mali, UNTM has given the new Malian Government 10 days to meet its demands else they embark on an industrial action.

The notice follows a meeting between the workers and the new Prime Minister Choguel Kokala Maiga last Tuesday which ended inconclusively.

Recall that last month, the workers union embarked on a four-day strike after negotiations with the government over wages, bonuses and allowances failed. The union is demanding better living and working conditions.

Have a listen to Deputy Secretary General of the Union, Abdourahmane Hinfa Touré.
