The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its latest data on cholera cases across the world, indicating that there has been a surge in global cases.
According to its Director General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, 4,000 people die a year from this disease which is preventable and easily treatable.
He also indicated that there has been a shortage of cholera vaccines in the world.
However, he explained that in the year in review, conflicts, climate change and poverty contributed to cholera outbreaks.
