The World health organization has warned countries to strengthen existing health measures against a third wave of the covid19 pandemic.
The health agency on Thursday said Africa has crossed the 4million covid19 infection mark – recording over one hundred and eight thousand deaths.
This development although projected, comes amid mixed reactions from African governments and populations over emerging reports of blood clots in recipients of the AstraZeneca/oxford vaccines in European nations.
During the organization’s s virtual briefing Thursday, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, WHO’s Regional Director for Africa said over 7million Africans have been vaccinated in ongoing campaigns.
Dr, Moeti speaking on progress made thus far, also cautioned against relaxing of some health guidelines, saying Easter celebration is around the corner.
