This edition of Weekly Top News focuses on the current situation in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
Recall Burkina Faso leader Captain Traore survived a counter-coup and made a series of changes. Traore is giving a hint that elections may not hold if the state of insecurity remains the way it is.
In Mali, we will look at the incursion of the CMA as they have continued to take over military bases that were once manned by MINUSMA and other connected issues like the 2015 agreement that has gone south.
We will also look at how the proliferation of firearms is strengthening the capabilities of these armed groups, especially in these three countries.
