In the face of imminent withdrawal of the Sahelian States of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger from the ECOWAS come January 2025, West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network, WADEMOS, a network of about 40 CS groups from across the subregion, commissioned a study to look at the implications of the notified withdrawal on the people of the respective countries and on the subregion.
At an event in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, where the network engaged with the Diaspora community to draw their attention to these implications, WADR’s Usman Umar, caught up with Emmanuel Yeboa, a Research Analyst with WADEMOS, who shared insights on some of these implications.
