The United States Government has expressed readiness to support the Gambia’s efforts to create a hybrid court with ECOWAS for the prosecution of crimes committed under Former President Yahya Jammeh’s regime

To this effect, the US will launch the improving access to justice in the Gambia project worth over $1 million

The US government also applauds the Gambia’s truth commission describing it as a model in Africa.
