U.S. launches $19 million activity to boost agriculture finance in Ghana

The United States Embassy in Ghana, has committed the sum of 19 million dollars to the country through an initiative tagged U.S. Feed the Future Ghana: Mobilizing Finance in Agriculture Activity.

The United States ambassador to Ghana Stephanie Sullivan joined by Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the virtual launch Thursday, pledged commitment to the new U.S. government food security strategy.

The first activity is expected to attract 261 million dollars in private sector financing to boost Ghanaian agribusiness.

Ghana’s Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto alongside government and private representatives and experts from the financial and agricultural sector attended the launch.
