The criminal trial involving seven members of the Coalition for Democratic Change Council of Patriots will get underway today after the judge denied government lawyers' request to delay the case.

The men were arrested and charged with a criminal attempt to commit murder, among other charges, after they counter-protested against the Vanguard Student Unification Party on July 26, the country’s Independence Day.
