The Gambia failed to make any significant progress in the fight against human trafficking as the country remains on the Tier Two Watchlist of the 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report.
Key among the reasons for a poor rating includes the Gambia's failure to prosecute any individual for human trafficking in the past 12 months.
The country is at the risk of losing the Tier Two position if it fails to meet the necessary requirements.
