President Bola Tinubu has launched a bold initiative to boost Nigeria’s economy by prioritizing locally made goods in public procurement.
The policy, recently approved by the Federal Government, mandates that government agencies give preference to Nigerian-made products, aiming to strengthen domestic industries and reduce dependency on imports.
The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), which represents over 4,000 businesses nationwide, has expressed strong support for the policy, calling it a timely move to spur industrial growth and job creation.
