A two-day National Dialogue on Migration has opened in Banjul as The Gambia grapples with rising concerns over irregular migration and its impact on national development.
Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the International Organization for Migration, the forum is held under the theme “Leveraging Regular Pathways for The Gambia’s National Development.”
The dialogue brings together government officials, civil society organisations, private sector representatives, and members of the Gambian diaspora to examine migration trends and policy responses.
Discussions are focused on expanding safe and legal migration routes, reducing irregular migration, and maximising the economic and social benefits of migration for The Gambia.
