A section of the Burkinabé population is demanding that Captain Ibrahim Traore rethinks his governance strategies as the head of state.
The call followed the renewal of Traore’s mandate as a military president on Tuesday.
Since his take over in September 2022m Faso has seen shrinking civic and media spaces, arrests and detention of dissenting voices and individuals critical of the regime.
Rights violations heightened in the country with the drafting to the battlefield of activists and journalists for expressing their views.
