Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio has sacked the country’s attorney general and minister of justice minister.
Anthony Yeiwoh Brewah’s sacking has been linked to the pardoning of prisoners on New Year's Day but the government is yet to issue any official statement.
However, reactions have trailed the social media space after photos of the now-former Minister and a notorious convicted criminal who benefited from the presidential amnesty surfaced online.
Yeiwoh Brewah who sat in a committee that made recommendations to the president for the pardoning of 160 inmates has since been replaced.
Mohamed Lamin Tarawalley now serves as the current attorney general and minister of Justice.
My Colleague Abdullahi Hassan has been speaking to our Freetown correspondent Patrick Sallia about the circumstances surrounding the sacking of the former minister, but most importantly about the convict – Moi Foray.
