Sierra Leone has reopened its aircraft registry, allowing aircrafts to land safely at Freetown International Airport, Lungi.
The registration process is now free of charge and has already started for aviation companies. This is the first time since 2008 that Sierra Leone has had aircrafts officially registered to operate within the country.
Efforts are being made to improve air links with neighboring countries like Guinea, Liberia, and Côte d’Ivoire, as well as other global destinations.
Plans are also in place to facilitate direct chartered flights to the United Kingdom within the next two to three months.
