Sierra Leone bans corporal punishment in schools

Sierra Leone's Ministry of Basic and secondary education has announced an anti-punishment initiative, reinforcing a ban on corporal punishments from all schools across the country including private owned schools.

According to the government, the move will promote positive disciplinary method and effectively reinforce ban on the practice of corporal punishments in schools nationwide.
