Senegal’s Autonomous Union of Health Workers has launched a two-day nationwide strike ahead of the government’s social dialogue set for February 27.

The strike underscores growing tensions over labor conditions as unions prepare to present their demands during the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.

Announced last week at the National Assembly, the dialogue has been welcomed by trade unions, who urge the government to engage in meaningful discussions.
