Everyone and indeed every nation appreciates democratic leadership because of the representative opportunities it gives to citizens.

Amidst the many nascent democracies on the African continent and the strive for perfection, one country that stands out in terms of its democratic nature is Senegal. In this edition, we zoom in on this democracy and the evolution of the country. Mr Mamadou Thior is our analyst.

Also, Nigeria’s presidential election held on February 25 is still raising dust. This is even as the citizens look towards 29th May when the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will constitutionally give way to President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Following a spate of protests and counter-protests by groups loyal to the different contestants in the election, the Department of State Services, DSS, released an official report hinting that some individuals and groups are working towards scuttling the May handover by installing an interim government.
