Senegal’s Minister of the Civil Service and the Renewal of the Public Service, Mariama Sarr, announced on Monday the resumption of negotiations between the government and the teachers' unions.
She said the resumption of dialogue was instructed by the President to achieve a peaceful climate with zero disturbance for this new school year.
The ministers of National Education, Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Finance and Budget, and Housing attended Monday’s meeting, which was also intended to assess the implementation of the 2018 agreements relating to the education sector.
