Senegal over the weekend recorded over 1,700 covid19 new infections and over 30 deaths according to the Ministry of Health and Social Action.

The new infections come from virological tests carried out on a sample of 7,331 individuals, corresponding to a positivity rate of 50.10%, reports in particular the daily epidemiological bulletin of the Ministry of Health.

Dakar and its region continue to concentrate most of this form of contamination with 307 cases recorded in the last 24 hours. the remainder, 317 were detected in other localities of the country.

Since the start of the epidemic on its territory, on March 2, 2020, Senegal has officially declared 63,002 positive cases for the new coronavirus. 47,579 have since recovered, 1,367 have died and 14,055 are still under treatment.
