Senegalese opposition leader Ousmane Sonko will appear before the court this morning after his arrest last Friday.

Sonko faces seven charges including inciting insurrection and attack on state security among others.

But the politician ahead of today’s hearing, began a hunger strike on Sunday according to his lawyers who spoke of their client’s persecution without any legal basis.
