In Senegal, Pape Malick Ndour — a senior figure in the former ruling Alliance for the Republic (APR) party and a former minister under ex-President Macky Sall — was arrested on Thursday.

He is expected to appear before the investigating judge of the Financial Judicial Unit (PJF) this Friday. Ndour was taken into custody at his home by officers from the Criminal Investigation Division.

Authorities have charged him with criminal conspiracy, money laundering, and the alleged embezzlement of approximately 2.04 billion CFA francs. The arrest stems from ongoing investigations into suspected misappropriation of funds within the Community Agricultural Development Program, which Ndour coordinated during the previous administration.
