In Senegal, the Diomaye Président coalition has welcomed the Constitutional Council’s rejection of the interpretative amnesty law.
The coalition, which supported Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s 2024 presidential bid, praised the decision as a victory for democracy and justice.
Speaking during a press conference, coalition president Aïda Mbodj highlighted the importance of judicial independence in Senegal’s political evolution.
The group also reflected on Faye’s first year in office, pledging continued support for his reform agenda.
