Senegal’s Customs Department has confiscated illicit drugs, counterfeit medicines, and expired food products valued at 1.3 billion CFA francs (over $2 million).
The operations, conducted by river-sea customs units between late November and early December 2024, aimed to combat trafficking of prohibited products. Maritime brigades from Mbour, Joal, Fimela, and other regions collaborated under the South Littoral Customs Subdivision.
This significant haul underscores Senegal’s commitment to safeguarding public health and curbing illegal trade.
