Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, held talks with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the Global Forum for Innovation and Vaccine Sovereignty, this Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Paris.
During this first exchange, the two heads of state expressed their common desire to give a new impetus to the partnership between Senegal and France, based on mutual respect, a balanced partnership serving the reciprocal interests of both peoples, united by shared democratic values, human connections, and a relationship of friendship.
The two presidents discussed the common challenges to be addressed in order to continue and strengthen cooperation in sectors contributing to greater sovereignty for Senegal.
They agreed to enhance major projects in various sectors, including energy transition, health, vocational training, local vaccine production, and agriculture.
The two leaders welcomed their shared commitment to improving the quality of the partnership between France and Senegal.
