Security analyst Mutaru Mumuni Muqthar has commended Ghanaian President John Mahama for his call for peace in Bawku, describing it as a crucial step toward long-term stability.
Muqthar, who is also the Executive Director of the West Africa Centre for Counter Extremism, emphasized the importance of engaging traditional authorities and security agencies to restore calm in the Upper East region, which has seen rising communal tensions.
During the Eid celebration, President Mahama urged all factions to set aside their differences and work together for peace in Bawku.
